Background
Growth phase in the film industry brings with it a need for storage space.
Shinfield Studios, the largest new film and TV studio project in the UK according to our client, was completed in early 2024 with 18 soundstages, 38 workshops, extensive and modern office space, a multi-storey car park and a 9-acre backlot for filming. It is owned by Shadowbox, one of the industry’s leading independent film and television studio platforms that designs, owns and operates purpose-built soundstage facilities.
The studio site is located near Reading in Berkshire, around 48 kilometres from central London. Ideally located to the side of the M4, it is a 30-minute drive from Heathrow Airport.

Employee car park
Huber Parking designed, planned and built the 601-space multi-storey car park for the employees, located at the side of the studio area. The building was handed over to the customer in May 2023. The multi-storey car park offers 6 levels. 54 of the existing parking spaces are provided for electric vehicles.
A customised ramp entrance leads directly from the access road into the building on level 3. Part of the daily traffic volume can therefore be directed to the multi-storey car park at an early stage. In addition, the VCM car park concept (a type of ramp car park) ensures a smooth flow of traffic within the car park during peak times at the beginning and end of shifts.
Two passenger lifts in the main staircase provide access to all levels; the second staircase at the back of the building is for emergency use only.
